Avast! It be the ship!
Friday June 19 was the unveiling of John Beerman's (an actual descendent of Henry Hudson) original oil painting of Henry Hudson's Ship, the Half Moon. The celebration took place at Riverspace in Nyack, NY. The painting of the Half Moon was commissioned by the American Heritage Rivers Alliance to commemorate this year's Quadricentennial Celebration.
Cold Spring (woot woot, represent!) resident Joe Diebboll of Highland Studio was hired to produce 400 prints of Beerman's "Half Moon". A portion of the proceeds from the painting will go to benefit the AHRA.
Arrr! Matey!
